As Judith Berger says in Herbal Rituals, “The name wintergreen hints at the tree’s effectiveness as a transitional herb between winter and spring. The Black Birch assists us in locating within our own bodies the signs of spring which have been buried under the winter's landscape.” The fresh, minty aroma of Sweet Birch is due to its high concentration of Wintergreen oil containing methyl salicylate, the plant substance from which aspirin was synthesized from. Each essential water is a part of a really small batch made using a traditional riveted copper alembic still. All hydrosols come with an info card containing the details of their distillation, storage & ways to use.
